How to Use Nystatin Suspension

The recommended dosage of this medication for babies is 2 ml four times a day. A dropper should be used for application of this medication in the babies. Using the dropper, place half of the dosage in each side of the mouth. Avoid feeding the baby for at least 5 to 10 minutes after placing the dosage. A smaller dosage may be recommended for new born babies. The instructions given by the health care provider should be followed strictly while using this medication. For adults and children the recommended dosage of this medication will be 4 to 6 ml four times per day. While taking this medication keep it in the mouth for a reasonable time. Do not swallow the medication at once. This medication only works on the direct contact of the affected part. This medication does not work through the blood stream unlike other medications. The medication will not work on simply swallowing. After the healing of the thrush, this medication should be continued for at least 48 hours. Before using this medication shake it well. You must continue this medication until the full course of this medication is complete.
